Something wrong, or something missing? Write to support@eightnine.app.
It should not, and this is the thing we most want to hear about. Before you write, two things worth trying:
If it is genuinely gone, tell us what you were doing when it happened — which format, how far into the match, and whether the phone restarted or the app closed on its own. Please also say which phone and which Android version.
If Android backup is switched on for your phone, your match history is restored with the app when you set up the new device. To carry matches across without relying on that: open Settings → Export in the app and save the file somewhere you can reach from the new phone.
Settings → Export writes your full history as JSON or CSV and hands it to the Android share sheet. It is free, it is not limited, and the JSON contains the complete record of every match rather than a summary.
Pool rules vary by venue and by region, and several of the things people assume are universal are not — whether the 8 on the break wins, what a third foul costs, how a handicap is applied. EightNine treats those as settings on the match rather than as fixed rules, chosen when the match is created so that changing a default later never rewrites a match you already played.
If your room plays something the app cannot express, tell us what it is and how it is scored. That is the most useful mail we get.
Both to support@eightnine.app. It is a small project, so replies are not instant, but they are from the person who wrote the app.
EightNine is an independent app. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to any pool league, federation, or rating system, and it does not calculate any official rating.
